There are many reasons to holiday in Britain this year and a good number of them can be found on the Isle of Wight, as a number of festivals set in order to a sizzling spring and summer on the island. The line up ranges from music events to sailing and Food Festival provides the perfect excuse for a holiday on the Isle of Wight in 2010. Here's a look at what to go from May to September of this year:

Isle of Wight Walking Festival
The first of the festivalLook for the Isle of Wight Walking Festival in May. Cowes sailors and socialites will be in droves between 31 July and 7 August for a week of lively events and celebrations. An indispensable fixture in the summer of sailing, and socialCalendar since 1826 attracts the prestigious regatta to mention up to a thousand boats of hi-tech yachts to classic day boats, not to mention tens of thousands of viewers who watch to turn on the epic race and enjoy the Cowes Week Parties .

Garlic Festival
The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival's popularity is one of the highlights of the island food calendar. The tiny village of Newchurch host this two-day event, around 25,000 visitors each year. FirstOrganized in 1983, this quirky festival is an annual sale in the village fairgrounds and this year the weekend of the 14th and 15 August. A broad range of garlic treatment available, including garlic, sausage, garlic shrimp, garlic, coffee, beer, garlic and even garlic ice cream.

Bestival
The Island Festival season comes to an exciting climax between 9 and 12 September mounted as an electrical line to the Bestival. This yearProdigy, Dizzee Rascal and The Flaming Lips have been confirmed for the event. As one of the hottest music festivals worldwide, Bestival for its friendly atmosphere and costumes are famous, is a must.
